True story: When the Southern Baptists were trying to harrass-controversy Disney on the Gay-Day issue in the 90's, they immediately started leaping upon every other aspect of Disney (Ellen on ABC, for ex.) as "promoting or endorsing a gay agenda"--
Even Timon & Pumbaa were interpreted as, quote, "gay characters depicted in a Disney film", although they were never mentioned by name.

I kid you not: When the SB tried headlining "Gay characters in Lion King", I was CONVINCED they were referring to the one voiced by Jeremy Irons. Who else would you have guessed?
(Ahem?...Weird unmarried uncle?)

And if it was just Scar that was overbearingly fey for the rest of the entire Katzenberg era, we could let it slide, but by the time we got to Frollo in "Hunchback" and Clayton in "Tarzan", it started to get pretty danged annoying--
But Ratcliffe?...Jeffrey, that was just immature.
