Global demand for Blu-ray devices to reach 12 million units in 2008, says Pioneer


Rebecca Kuo, Singapore; Adam Hwang, DIGITIMES [Tuesday 2 October 2007]
Global demand for Blu-ray Disc (BD) players/recorders will increase from 5.5 million units in 2007 to 12.0 million units in 2008, according to Pioneer.

Pioneer expects to sell 50,000 BD players/recorders in 2007, mostly in North America. In view of the fast growing market in Taiwan, Pioneer will offer BD players/recorders in Taiwan with traditional Chinese language support in 2008.
