Default Media Go

I was using this last night and it was a nightmare.. All I wanted to do was put an avi video file on to my PSP. I thought these were compatible files with the PSP so I first tried to just drag and drop on to the PSP (in to the video folder) via 'My Computer'. When transferred - in less than 2 minutes - it told me the file was not supported.

I tried Media Go. I imported the video in to my library then selected, right click, and 'transfer to device'. I selected my connected PSP.

I believe Media Go converts files to their best format for perfect viewing on the PSP? Well it did that (I think) and then started the transfer process. After waiting 45 minutes, the transfer was only 22% complete! Crazy!! The file is only 350mb approx. My laptop is only a few months old so easily has the processing power to cope with what I believe should be a straight forward task.

Is Media Go always this slow?

Anyone know why the avi wasn’t supported in the first place? I also tried converting to MP4 and when I dropped that on my PSP it said the same thing 'unsupported data'
