Default How to tell Ifa Sub will perform better with or without Polyfill..??

I know the obvious answer is to just throw it in and listen, But For me its tough.. I have had an inner ear infection for a while now and am 90% deaf in my right ear, so im not the best judge of sound ..

Basically what I wanted to know is for my POlk PSW110, because when i put poly in my last polk ( psw10) It didnt seem to get better, worse if anything, Same with my Klipsch sub12.. So is there anyway to tell By specs if a sub has a better response from adding polyfill?

Like I said I know this is a easy answer from a certain standpoint, but By going by box size and specs, Im just wondering if Some of these would perform better with it..

My AA HD sub12 sounded much better and less hollow with poly , and am just wondering why? Is it basically just because the box itself COULD have been larger from the factory?? Thanks guys

PSW110 box is 13.25x14.25x16.25 Which if using 3/4 mdf would be about 1.2 cf, and after port and sub displacement would probably be near 1 cf.. Which seems pretty small even for a low end 10, especially ported..
