I just installed a 2308 at a client's house. He fried his 2307 due to lightning and since it was discontinued, we upped it to the 2308. Basically, I got it as soon as it hit my distributor and installed in right away. I wouldn't say that it is the bee's knees or anything, but it's a solid receiver. Comparible to well engineered other brands out there and works exactly as advertised. Setup was a breeze and HDMI worked without issue.

No DTS-MA decoding per the box. Something about 'network ready' which they don't cover AT ALL in the manual. (???)

I wouldn't go with Onkyo overall as I think they are packing to much value into their receiver... which nobody is coming close to - and it really makes me wonder where they have cut back to afford those luxuries for the money. Yet, it is very tempting.

On the other hand, as a BB employee, I don't think you can get Onkyo and the accomodation program for Denon should give you similar pricing. I would seriously consider the 2808 or even better if possible, but that's entirely up to you.

As a BB employee I would seriously look at Yamaha as well. My Z1 has served me well for over 4 years... totally flawless.
