Hi all just wondering if anyone owns one of these AV's? My brother-in-law was quoted 1750 CDN which of course is a rip off since they are selling for 1100 US. They would be powering a Paradigm surround set up Monitor11's/Mini Monitor/cc390/dipole adp390/and DSP3200 sub. I would like some feedback on it if at all possible. Is this the same as the 2309?3808?3809? I have about 8000 to spend for him on his music/movie experience. His TV would be this Samsung 58” Plasma PN58B850 that's about 4000 itself, would be open to others if there are better ones. I know this part doesn't belong here (TV) but maybe one of you computer savvy people can send me a link to reviews on this model? Thank you in advance ![]() |

Ok well the lack of response means I'll direct him to a different company thanks. I'll probably send him to the higher end Onkyo's or Integra with the better power supplies. Maybe the Pioneers not sure how they stack up against the Onkyo/Integra for real power numbers.

I recently picked up the AVR-4310. I am completely happy with the unit. It has met or surpassed every expectation I had for it. I really don't have one bad thing to say.
The 990/3310 you reference is the replacement for last years 989/2809. I'm sure it would do a very respectable job of powering those speakers, but it does have preouts in case he wanted to add an external amp later ![]() ![]() Also, Denon stacks up very well with their power supplies, as well as reported power numbers. here is a review for the 989: HERE Last edited by Dase; 08-25-2009 at 05:01 AM. |

Bottom line you get alot more AVR for your money.... I used microsoft's bing.com and ended paying less than $750 US shipped. That would leave more money for better Bl-ray player ( I love my OPPO ) and the Speakers will enjoy that 33% increase in power..... I've owned both Denon and Onkyo and they are both good boxes but more fearures and less $$$ I'm going with Onkyo (might switch back for the new 4810ci though)...... ![]() |
