My wife and i recently went to Prescott (pronounced Press-kit by locals), Arizona to visit a friend and go check out some of the off the beaten path areas. one area i loved had anasazi ruins. they were small but mostly intact and extremely cool. it took 2 hours of off roading, a mile or so of hiking up switchbacks, and walking along a cliff edge to get to them. but it was awesome. seeing these ruins has made me really interested in finding more. Not necessarily anaszi ruins but just indian remnants. petroglyphs, adobe ruins, anything that still survives from the native americans. I've been to mesa verde where the huge cliff structures are but am looking for things in the southwest that are off the beaten path. that may take a few miles of hiking to get to. does anyone know of any places like this or of any websites that can point me in the right direction?
