Good choice deeman...a projector would be sweet! Wish I could go that route but my ceilings are too low in the basement.

I picked up my 690 last week and its awesome, upgraded from the 590 and the sound feild is much larger. Sometimes with the 590 you could tell the sound was coming from three diffrent speakers, not with the 690. Just waiting for my 60's to show up. I'm using the 20's for my fronts right now and they just can't keep up with the new center. I can't decide what to do next though, another Sub 15 or three UPA 1's. Any thoughts?

Isn't the 690 just a main speaker on it's side

I would love to have 3 Studio 100's as my front soundstage, 2 more for the rears. How wonderful SACD's would sound!

Man you are in for a treat when your 60s show up. Especially when you move your 20s to surround duty. PICTURES!!!!
I would get the sub first...more impact in my opinion. Do you have an existing sub right now that you are using? Have you considered dual subs from perhaps HSU, SVS or ED?

If your wife is like mine then no need to worry about WAF! She actually loves the look and size of the CC-690. I don't know if she'll approve of a smaller center for my future purchases ha! Maybe a Sig C5 and I'll tell her it's the only way to go if she wants something comparable in looks and size.

Like Morrissey and aces_high have mentioned it's just that good!! I would be happy with 3 matching fronts but the CC-690 to me is the next best thing!!

I live in Canada so some of the ID subs aren't really a good deal after shipping them here. My gear is as follows Pioneer Elite sc 07, cc 690 v5, Studio 60 v5(when they show up), ADP 590 v5, Atom Monitor v6 and Sub 15. The Studio 20 v5 will go upstairs for two channel music. Now I can't make up my mind about what to upgrade next, either get another Sub 15 or three UPA 1's. Anybody have any idea's?

I'm in Canada as well and I understand the shipping frustrations.
SVS has a Canadian reseller...SonicBoom Audio http://www.sonicboomaudio.com/

But since you already have a Sub 15 I'm not sure how they would match up anyway.

I prefer sealed subs over ported, so I think I'll get another SUB 15. It's an awesome sub, goes deep and loud while remaining tight. Which made a bigger impact on your system adding a second sub or adding an external amp? That's what I'm debating now, which one to get first.

That is a good question. Since adding a second sub will be much more subjective to the room as it interacts with your room differently than say my room, I would think suggesting an external amp would more likely provide a similar expereience that I and others have had, and it is a very positive one. I loved adding my second SVS sub, as I have a more balanced response through out the room now, but I believe I got a bigger impact when I added the amp. It just opened up the speakers and expanded their dynamic range so much, all without any kind of fatiguing setting in at loud volumes.

Maybe because I am just me, but I'm curious about this statement.

How many other speakers have you auditioned? When you were there listening to the Paradigms, where there other speakers for you to hear? And did the dealer show you any of them?

I ask because I think you may need to open up to more then just Klipsch and Paradigm. Perhaps you should expand your overall search and look into some of these also.

Kef iQ series
Monitor Audio RX series
B&W 600 series
PSB Image series
Energy Reference Series

Everyone on this forum will tell you to listen to as many speakers as you can, and these are just the tip of the iceberg on speaker Mfgs., there are so many out there.

I think if you gave all of these a listen you will have developed a sense of the sound that you prefer, and that you will also find one to you that just rises above the rest.

I am not gonna say that Klipsch are bad speakers, they aren't, they are just a sound for a particular person with that particular sound desire. Here I have seen you on this site for a few months, and you came in here all about Klipsch speakers, and in fact now you know, hey there is more out there and I LIKE IT. I am just saying this so you have a chance to really explore.

Paradigm, if that is ultimately your choice, is a great choice. I just hope you spend some time really auditioning speakers. Too often someone says they want to take their time and then MAYBE listens to one or two different speakers, and violla, they've decided, talk about premature ejac....

So you know, last summer I spent my week of vacation and just went around listening to speakers, all types, things out of my price range and in it, all just to see what was out there. I am glad I did. You should do the same, see what all is out there, something will REALLY catch your attention, or it already has, and you will know, YEP THATS THE ONE.

Disclaimer: Sorry owners, I am not thread crapping, just open discussion, I know many of you so you know I am not hating, just trying to be informative. Sorry for the long post.

I think this also has a lot to do with your upgade to your front sound stage as well by adding the Monitor 7s and 370 centre.
