Default Am I thinking correctly ?

To prevent IR or burn in, or even uneven wear, you can just watch letterboxed content with the area thats supposed to be "black bars" in shades of grey correct ? so that the whole screen "ages" at the same time ? If thats the case I would be more than happy to watch a movie with a dark grey bar and preserve the aspect of the film rather than zooming it. Again, hope I'm thinking this thru correctly
