17 Again 4/5 Movie

I am usually not a fan of high school movies, and especially body switching age movies, but this movie actually wasnt that bad.. I thought Zac Efron did a really good job, i found myself laughing at a bunch of parts in the movie, it was very entertaining, and defintley a shocker.. if your a fan of movies of this genre check it out you wont be disappointed

I was quite surprised by this movie as well when I watched it a while back.

I expected it to be 'meh' at best and was only interested because of Mathew Perry.
But it was quite funny, especially Perry/Efron's best friend. He was the best part of the movie.

Efron also did a good job imo. He would make for a good comedy actor in the future now that he's supposedly finished singing and dancing

To defend there minning operation. Those helicopters aren't particularly good at attack compared to what we have.

Just saw 'Clash of the Titans' in the theater.

In my opinion, it doesn't hold a candle to the original. The original felt more epic in every way. Not even the CGI, that wasn't even that great could help this one. There was barely any character development, no reason to care about anyone, no reason for Sam Worthington to look exactly the same as he has in the last 2 movies and was just one action piece after another without any suspense or drama. I felt very "meh" watching it and it just makes me want to watch the original again.

I give it a 2/5

Drunken Angel

Watched this Kurosawa classic last night. For how old it is (60+ years) I am very surprised at how good the film is and how into it I was. Toshiro Mifune is one of the best actors to have ever lived and I am always glad to see his films. As always Kurosawa is amazing, and in particular the landscape in this film is very interesting, post World War II Japan in a way I have not had a chance to see that often. It is a little town disheveled with make shift shops and rubble scattered everywhere. Not a bad watch.

Rating: 8.5/10

It's an overlooked Kurosawa gem. I'm glad you liked it. The chemistry between the two leads is amazing.

Check out The Bad Sleep Well now as well as most of all the other Kurosawa flicks. One of the best directors to ever do it.

Yeah I have watched most of his samurai films but was never interested in seeing his other films. So I checking these out. I am going to watch Ikiru, High and Low, The Bad Sleep Well, and Stray Dog.

Anyways, back to the arrows. You are forgetting how large those arrows actually are considering how big the Na'vi are. I might as well spoiler tag the rest since this will be talking about the movie now...
[Show spoiler]Earlier in the movie during the first battle, they were only shooting upward, which would make it nearly impossible to penetrate given the obvious physics involved. However, during the final battle when they were flying on the Ikran and diving, it was a completely different story. They were shooting downward and/or head-on then of course while flying, which would all create a lot more velocity. Given the size of the arrows, the Na'vi's strength, the velocity they would be traveling, and the fact that at least some were firing at point blank range, it is not that shocking that they would penetrate the glass of the cockpits of the regular helicopters. Especially considering they are also not just normal arrows.

I realize that is getting overly technical, but it makes sense.
Carbon-fiber-kevlar reinforced titanium, DESIGNED to fend off bullets would easily succumb to pointy broomsticks, you are right of course. What was I thinking.

Your desire to believe is outweighing logic.

I will do some math to prove you wrong. But first, I need you to tell me how much stronger than a human is a Navi? 2 x, 3x, 4x...?

Last movie I saw was The Lovely Bones. It was alright, but I expected it to be better. I'd give it a 6/10.

That spacecraft in The Fountain didn't make any sense, so why don't you spent time dissecting that.

Just watched the blu-ray version of The Godfather and am very impressed with the picture quality. Also there is great featurette in the box set titled "Emulsional Rescue" that details what they went thru to restore these classics. Kudos to Spielberg for his help.
Movie and video I'd give a 5 to both. They just don't get too much better than this.

240 x 3.158 = 757.95 FPS

A .762 x 392 grain armor piercing round (M16) travels at 2,810 FPS
A .50 caliber x 1812 grain armor piercing round travels at 2,810 FPS
A.30-06 x 180 grain travels at 2,900 FPS

Even if a Navi is 6 times stronger than a Human, he cant fire an arrow with the necessary force required to damage those Warships.
