Everything is connected and set correctly.

And out of the 25 or 30 Blu's I have played, this is Only the 2nd Disc to do this.
So,I will see what I can find out.

If its something in the Yamaha,I dont see why it wouldn't happen more then 2 out of 25 to 30 different Blu-Rays.
Todd , One thing you could try is maybe changing the settings on one of the units to see what happens . I would do it on one of the discs that this is happening with , Just a thought !

I can try changing it from Bitstream to LPCM Loseless(from either component)See if that makes a difference.
Perhaps its not handling Bitrate like it should.

I really just dont know.Or it may need a firmware update(its never had one)But to do one I have to burn the update onto a Blank CD or DVD.
But until I do get another laptop I cant do that. This laptop no longer recognizes the Card Reader or my DVD Burner.

I can live with it this way,and can, perhaps go into DSP Sound Modes and settings like NEO:6 Cinema.

But I will get it straightened out in time.I haven't heard of a Blu-Ray Player yet that didn't have a glitch somewhere(even if a Firmware Download fixed it).

Good Morning Todd,

Sorry to hear about your sound issue. Hope you get it fixed soon.

As much as I love Blu-ray, I hate the fact that we have to update. Updates should be just for BD-Live stuff. Playing a movie released 3 years ago or 30 years from now should just play. Updates, in a perfect world, should be just for the extra bells and whistles, not the film.

I started watching The Matrix and got thru the First Hour. Then I noticed something didn't sound quite right. One display said it was in Dolby TRUE HD and the other showed only Dolby Digital.
So I tried a few different things with NO results.

I even got the new Blu-Ray Player I bought my Parents in the Living Room and hooked it up.Still no change. So I dont understand.

Then like many days recently a little before 3PM,I started feeling sick on my stomach and real dizzy. So I cut everything off and went to bed.I got up around 1:20AM.

And I still have a couple of Doctor's Visits for Three more sets of Injections(Before they will run the tests on me and see if this helped at all).

And it doesen't seem to sound like it is in a loseless Codec.

I checked ALL of my BD Players Settings. And even put a Brand New BD Player in its place.(Same result).

I messed with internal settings on my Yamaha and No Luck.
It also did that with one other movie if I am correct.I need to find which one that was,so I can look and see if any others have had an issue with it.

I really hate it,Because I Love The Matrix(even Bought the Tenth Anniversary Digi-Book Edition).

But,I guess Fortunately its only occurred in these two movies(out of all the ones I have played)

So,it just shows me that a new BD Player is something I need to get when I add another component in September(If its not another MonoBlock First)

As long as I have the $50 that The Harry Potter Ultimate Editions 3 & 4 will run(When they are released Oct 19th)I will be happy.
Hey Todd, this may sound like a really stupid question, but please bear with me...

Did you go into the disc's menu and select the TrueHD track? If you recall, a lot of Warner movies load the lossy (Dolby Digital) track by default. Coupled with that, Warner likes to use the autostart feature that completely bypasses the menu. So, if you don't know to look out for it, you can end up watching a movie in Dolby Digital. I know, as it has happened to me on more than one occasion (most recently with I Am Legend).

I apologize if you have tried this and it is still not working properly, but I thought I'd at least throw it out there for you to check.

Amen on That Eric.
I was scared though.I bet the look on my face would have been priceless if caught on film.

So Thankfully no problems at all.I want to get another projector by New Years or Around March at the latest.
But would like to be able to still have this one in perfect working order then. That way someone could get an Incredible Deal and have a projector for their system(With a Spare Bulb)And almost 1000 hours left on this bulb.

Its Only a 720p/1080i but if you have the room it can do well over 100 inches and beyond.

Good Morning,Paul.
I hope you are having a nice day.

I checked back in a little late today.I had a movie up an running a little before 10AM this Morning.
Thats 6 in about 12 days so far.

Not sure why but I have really been in the mood to watch movies lately. And with my Nephew coming to stay for the rest of the week(starting around 8AM tomorrow)I know that there will be more movies watched in here.

As well as some watched on the Magnavox Blue-Ray Player,Vizio Soundbar,Polk Audio PSW10 Sub,and 51in Toshiba HDTV.

Which, making sure he had something to do when he came over(was one of the main reasons I bought it and set it up in the Living Room).
Since he is still wide awake by my 5PM Bedtime.(Not to mention also doing it for my Dad to enjoy as well)

AMEN and +1 Travis,my Friend.

I bought this BD Player on Black Friday 2008.And its made by Funai(Along with Magnavox and Sylvania).

And so far I have not had to make a single Update for anything.(Knock on wood)
It has played every Blu-Ray thus far(Even the Old and the New).So I do agree with You.

Thanks Paul. And there are no stupid suggestions or questions(in my mind)
Yes its one of those discs that the Default is Dolby Digital(I cant see why)And there are 10 Audio Track Choices, with about 6 Foreign Languages. So on there I switch to Dolby TRUE HD(Track Number 2).

But when I pull up the display,it shows Video Resolution,Max Number of Channels Available,as well as the Audio Track. And it still says Dolby Digital(And I cant tell for sure)

But I would be disappointed if HD didn't sound better then this.It just is confusing. But something I will eventually get figured out.

So what do you think,A good step up from the BDP-320? I am very interested in the Pioneer Players(with the good fortune I have always had with Pioneer)Along with the Reviews I have read.

I see them pop up(both new and used)on AudiogoN,or some other dealers inventory.
And I like the specs, and (like you have mentioned being one of the last in-house players for Pioneer)

But I do look forward to what you think about your new Toy.Also does that have Built-In WiFi.

Hopefully things will work out for you as soon as possible with the paperwork, so they can get what you paid into for so long. As from my viewpoint they owe you those benefits and should have already been sending them to you.

And Just let me know about the SPL Meter. I will see what I can do, in terms of covering the shipping. Again Thank You and have a Blessed Day.
Hey Todd -- Glad you'll be getting your HP movies Earlier than expected. I never got into them as they just didn't seem my style, but everyone's tastes are different, right? --- As for the paperwork thing, I just posted an update in Fors&' thread, and I need to try & call them again (after faxing the paperwork out yest.). --- As for the SPL Meter, I'll try to get a little box & send it Friday. PM your address again so I can write it down.

I did? It's been a while since I watched the first 2 MATRIX movies, or the first one anyway. I think I need to watch the last 2 to complete my Viewing of that amazing Trilogy (I honestly forget if I watched just the 1st one, or the 1st two)

Todd, have you tried (when the movies' Playing) to hit the AUDIO button on your remote to see what it says? (I mean AFTER you switched to TRUE-HD). I'm sure you have tried everything/anything to fix this; just thought I'd throw this out there. Some titles just start playing automatically, bypassing the menu, and defaulting to DD as some of the posts above already noted.

I have to run as I'm at the Library 5 mins from my house --- my Cable bill is late so no Internet there til' I pay that (damn Unemployment $$$$, lol). I may be back later, but prob. not as I plan on playing a bluray or two LOUDLY!!!

Have a great day everyone.

Hi Todd, all is well I had so many hours at work they offered me a extra day off today so I couldnt resist, going to clean house "a little " Dust all my HT gear might even polish my subs and then enjoy some movies, another barbecue and a cigar lol . As far as the Elite 23 im totally loving it and for me I think it was a good step up from the 320 because I only payed 60 dollars more for it then my 320 so it was a score. The Looks alone was worth it to me , I dont think it has wifi but im a simple guy with simple needs lol I was wanting a quiet player that was well built, matched my gear and performed well with blurays and DVDS and it does all of the above beyond what my Expectations were

Hey Aero,my Friend.
Thanks for the Post and the Info.I am extremely Greatful.
Just let me know how much shipping would be(Before you ship it this way)

And I watched "The Matrix" this morning.Video was Great and the Audio was good as well. But nothing really special(Though the Helicopter into the Glass Building was Awesome)

But I tried all my settings and it just didn't sound as good as I expected. But it may just be me.

I do hope they go ahead and give you the Benefits You Most Certainly Deserve.
I hope the rest of your day goes Great,Aero.

And look forward to chatting with you again,my Friend.

Sounds like a Great Day you have going there Factor.
The Cleaning and Dusting is a must for me.And with the gear you have I would keep it wiped cleaned and polished up as well.

And Thanks for the info on the Pioneer BD Players.
WiFi isn't a huge issue with me(As I wont say No to a player that didn't offer WiFi)
I am wondering about HDMI v. 1.4 for 3-D Use.If that is really going to work out well.

Or maybe just a Newer Player with better Pic Quality and not worry about 3-D quite yet.But I will give Pioneer a look when that time finally arises.

(And enjoy the BBQ)Weather doesn't look to promising here. So,I have No idea what I may grab in a short while.
