I have been given the opportunity by the local Onkyo dealer (I reside in the Philippines) to purchase an 876 in Silver at a discounted price of around $1000 (a good price considering where I live and how amps are priced here). However, it was admitted to me that it is the black edition that is very popular and that the two silver units available at the low price have been in the dealer's inventory for 2 years (sealed and never opened in their original boxes).
I would just like to ask if this length of time that the receiver is in storage in original packing will have a detrimental effect on quality and performance once I start to use it. Would it be more prone to possible problems? In short, can or should I take a chance on this (covered by warranty)? Thank YOU for your help!! |
