But on the other hand, you have a movie, a movie that for all original intent was meant to be watched, the original thought was proabably meant for it to be watched more than once, perhaps even countless times, it may have cost $30 to buy origianlly, and heck, may even be worth a couple hundred to someone today, would you really not lend that to a 'friend' or a family member? I mean, really? You'd say no? You'd say, no, I don't trust you take care of my $30 piece of plastic for a night?

I will put aside not lending the steelbook, especially if it isn't open, if that's you thing, that's your thing, I don't think a real friend or family member would have the nerve to ask you to open it, but if it is open, I really like the idea of just putting the disc in another case, I honestly had never thought of that as obvious of a solution as it is and I think the next time I lend out one of I mine I will take that route.

Well obviously the respondants to this thread must be at least 10 - 1 who would not lend the movie and a great number of those people also said they wouldn't lend ANY movie, nevermind steelbook or not. If you can't lend a material item that isn't worth case a beer you either have some serious trust issues or your just selfish. I don't know how else to explain it.
Calling us selfish is a bit out of order mate! Each of our collections is a labour of love, time and money. I understand it's only $30 to you but I work at a Blockbuster and I can see the damage done to our movies because most customers don't care about the property because it isnt theirs so they dont treat it with respect. I'm not against lending my cheap blu-rays out but when it comes to my imports or limited editions it's almost out of the question because to me it is a priceless treasure that I hold a great deal of pride in. I totally understand the people who don't want to lend anything out because it is their property and have the right to chose what to do with it. We are not selfish we are protective like a Mother Bear and her Cubs we jump through a lot of hoops to make sure our BD's are in mint condition and make sure they're safe. One man's just is another man's treasure.....

(but then again you're right to it is just plastic/steel and I see your point I just don't feel selfish is the right word, I prefer cautious )
