Need ideas for hanging curtains

im doing the entire room in curtains and im looking for ideas of how to install them...so far ive done nails with mason string and im not really happy with the results...it came out ok but im looking for other ideas...curtain rod will be the last resort but not sure those will work as i need to overlap the ends to create a seamless wall of curtains, top to bottom...ive also considered sewing on velcro and somehow attaching the other side to the wall...only problem with this is i dont want to destroy the wall in case i ever have to take it down...maybe put up a board of some sort and attach the velcro to that?...any and all ideas would be greatly appreciated
