Need ideas for hanging curtains

What about nails through the curtains every few feet? I will again state that a darker paint would have been much easier even a grey or brown, it didn't have to be black on the other walls. You are presumably going to have to patch and paint any holes you make in the walls anyway

I've seen these used in offices that have a glass wall. You can either ceiling or wall mount them.

Mine are tacked to the ceiling, one every 1 1/2 foot or so. There is a heavy brown Blackout curtain behind Another Black curtain because I repainted & sound wise the extra is better

well i played around with it and pulled the string a little tighter and it didnt come out too bad...just got to finish the rest of the room

not sure why you constantly tell me to paint the room...at this point i would think it would be perfectly clear that im interested in going a different route...not just the easiest...im going after a uniform look to the room...not just dark walls and curtained windows...to me it still looks like a basic room rather than a theater room...and nails through the curtains? really?

The string pulled tight looks fine. When I suggested nails I wasn't speaking of roofing nails more like finishing nails or penny nails, drive them half way in and then bend them up, hell you could put grommets in the top of the curtains and put hooks on the wall that way you can pull the curtains down and toss them in the washer. This would also make overlapping nice and easy with a clean finished look. Even using 2 colors of curtains to give the room a more interesting look

In the end it's your room, so you can and will do what you like, but I'm pretty sure most around here would agree that a nicely painted wall looks plenty "theater" like and the bonus is you would already be done Now how are you going to handle the ceiling?

Any thoughts on 2 coats of the Behr with the primer in it rather then doing primer then paint? We used this in the garage and it worked great

normally i would but i have 5 gallons of gray primer so i have to use it up somehow

Good idea Bill.

This is exactly what I do to cover the cut-out between my living room and dining room when watching movies. Finishing nails painted to match the wall and grey blackout curtains with 1/2 inch grommets (about 14" apart). Works like a charm and looks good. When not in use I throw 'em in the closet and you never notice the finishing nails.

If you look at my gallery, I have picture of some blackout curtains that I did that use grommets and finishing nails. I like them because they can get out of the way when I need them to (no one notices the nails) and they block most of the light when I am watching a movie.
