Default HD-DVD region coding for Japan - truth or fiction

I've been arguing with the ignorant Capek (HD-DVD bias to the max:P) regarding the issue on HD-DVD discs having region 2 coding for Japan.

My basic question is:

Is this true or not?

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-14-71-ye-49-en.html

Check the link above.

Titles like Under Siege, House of Wax and even XXX (not under Sony in Japan) are listed as region-free. But look at Firewall, Reign of Fire and even the Superman Trilogy are encoded with region-2.

So guys, it all leads down to this question:
Does region 2 coding exists for HD-DVDs in Japan or not?
