Default Interesting news on HD DVD sales number

On engadgethd, they posted the number of Xbox HD DVD add ons sold at the moment the 750k number was anounced.
http://www.engadgethd.com/2007/12/18...s-269000-sold/
And with just a little math, it's a great lol moment.

750k total units sold (Add on + standalones)

-269.000 (add ons)

= 481.000 standalones

Less than 500k, right after the firesales, which reportedly sold 90k standalones.

-90.000
= 390k standalones, right around where the Blu Ray standalones were at the time (I think I've read a number around 360 or 370k BR standalones back then).
Now BR, around that 750k anounce, the number of BR player is -I am fairly confident- right around 400k or above (rising now with the new $299 players).

so, with all those firesales, all they could manage is 480k vs 400k? a 54 / 46 lead?
LMAO

Look at that lead shrink now

P.S: also, remember that for the longest time the Add-on was sold at $170 with a free Heroes HD DVD season 1 set
That also puts things in perspective (and a lot of people reselling their add-on online)
