i'm pretty much in the same boat.

i watched The Abyss (whichever cut it was) about a year ago or so and i liked it, but don't think i'd be willing to spend over $12 on it. and as for True Lies, i gave it a 2.5/5 and unless i rent it and like it more the next time, or can get it for, let's say $5, that will be one i pass on as well.

although i'm sure The Abyss will look great and True Lies will sound great. dvd sounds like crap.
