This is another disk from Optimum that new software and equipment brought out previously unseen flaws in. The movie is clearly in hd, unlike perhaps some other Optimum disks, and it has the typical Carpenter look to the film that it should have, but the contrast levels are out of whack, with light sources creating overly boosted contrast lels marring detail even when I turned down my video card's contrast significantly. I hope HDNet Movies shows this one again so I can compare the two versions.

Some of Optimum's early releases looked like crap...re-issues would be nice.
