It seems wherever I looked, I see ads for UMD movies for the PSP, but if I am not mistaken, didn't most of the Hollywood Studios pull some of their support for UMD Movies since the sales weren't as high as they hoped? I mean, the only reason why I see UMD existing is because that is the format that PSP Games come in. I know Sony is still supportive of their UMD format given its their technology, but how do the other studios feel about it currently?
Has there been any talk as to other "purposes" the UMD might serve or is it pretty much guaranteed a dead format once the PSP is declared obsolete or Sony invents another new format for its PSP2 or so? Anyone have any info about this? Thanks. |
