Just picked this up last night. Absolutely stunning!! I feel like I'm watching this for the first time with the jump in audio/video quality!

One question, is the lost sequence "Claire De Lune" found somewhere on the disk??

Sort of. It's in the Virtual Vault, so you can see a tiny poor quality version of it.

Just received my copy from Amazon, with slip. Only problem: the slip came with a completely damaged spine! It's complain time...

Bought this months ago and finally finished the original--I watched it in chunks because I tried all the way through and I couldn't make it. I think my favorite was Toccata Fugue in D Minor, visual, it was the simplest, but the music, and colors for each section of the orchestra were great. I look forward to watching 2000, when I was little I was at my aunt's house and I asked her if I could watch Sorcerer Mickey because I did not know what he was from and seeing him and his hat at Disney at a young age I wondered, so she fired up and fast-forwarded the VHS to the Sorcerer Mickey short and I was mystified, so I really look forward to 2000. Oh, and how could I forget, the end of of the original is hands-down the most haunting thing to come out of Disney... But I enjoyed the original overall. That virtual vault was ticking me off though...

Yeah, it always takes me a few viewings to make my way through the original, especially if I start it on a weeknight!

I'm not sure if you are aware, but the Sorcerer Mickey segment is from the original Fantasia, and the same segment is carried over to 2000. Maybe I misread your post, but it seemed like you were looking forward to 2000 for the Sorcerer Mickey segment, when you should have already seen it while watching the original?

Did the virtual vault tick you off enough to go out and buy the old Fantasia Anthology on DVD to get them on disc? I had it before and when I heard the Blu-ray was coming out I sold it on ebay for like $30. Then I recently rebought it on ebay for $15 shipped to get those special features on disc, just in case BD-Live disappears I don't want it taking my special features with it. It wasn't bad enough that Disney threw in 2 bonus DVDs that I don't need into the combo pack, but now I go and buy the old DVDs again so now I have even more wasted space. I feel like a fool for doing it, but I did enjoy rewatching those old special features on my upconvert player instead of in a tiny thumbnail size through the virtual vault. They better not pull this BS on any future releases.

I hate when that happens.

I almost crapped myself when my order for Tron and Tron Legacy (I got the separate 2-disc versions) showed up the other day and the slip covers for both were in almost perfect condition!

I've never watched either before (shame on me, right?), me and my roomate watched Fantasia last weekend (with only a 10 minute break :P), so we're probably watching 2000 this weekend.

I actually considered that, I might wait till there is a break in BD releases because I have been buying like crazy lately but I am interested in those discs.

I really wish I had picked this up on release week with the $10 coupon I had printed off. I can't remember what it was that kept me from picking it up at the time.

Anyone else buying this now for $30. I heard that this is already going back in the vault at the end of the month.

I got my copy on release week, but yeah, it is scheduled to go back into the vault on 4/30. For anyone that doesn't have a copy yet but is considering one, I would go for it. I don't think you'll regret the purchase. The Blu-rays have given me a whole new appreciation for both films!

I don't understand why they are pulling it off the shelves so soon. This is ridiculous!
