Default Battle Fantasia coming to the US PSN

Quote:
More than a year after retail release for the PlayStation 3 in Europe, Arc System Work's Battle Fantasia is finally coming to North America, courtesy of the PlayStation Network.

North American PlayStation 3-owning fans of Arc fighters like Guilty Gear and the recently-reviewed BlazBlue were somewhat disappointed last year when Battle Fantasia was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 at retail. Relief is now in sight, however, as Aksys announces a fall release for the game in downloadable for on the PlayStation Network.

"The fans have been asking for it and we're here to deliver," said Frank "Bo" deWindt II, Project Lead, Aksys Games. "Thanks to the revival of the fighting genre this year there hasn't been a better time to release such a fun and exciting fighter like Battle Fantasia on the PlayStation Network."

See? They would have released it on the PlayStation 3 earlier, but it just wasn't a good time. It should be interesting to see how well the magic-meets-steampunk game does as a downloadable title, seeing as the 360 boxed version didn't exactly take the country by storm.

I named all 5 of them and now let's just see if the ones I chose will be included and now I'll just sit back and wait for this awesome game to finally come to PS3 in America with trophies.

Celebrate Christmas Eve With Battle Fantasia

Quote:
The last time we spoke to Aksys about Battle Fantasia we heard it would be out by the end of this year. We’re almost done with 2009 so I contacted Aksys about the PlayStation Network version of Battle Fantasia again.

And we just got a terse response! “BF will be out next week,” says an e-mail from an Aksys rep. So, you can download Battle Fantasia next, next Thursday. And if you’re into collecting digital trinkets, Aksys added trophies to the PSN version. Still no details about pricing.

I bought the JPN disc-based version of this game and thought it was so-so. Certainly not the best game Arc System Work has created (I prefer Blazblue both in game mechanics and graphical style).

Battle Fantasia has its own unique and charming style, but I feel the gameplay doesn't hold up to the better fighting games on PS3. I could recommend it to fighting game fans if they release it at a reduced price on PSN for 20~25 USD.

Well here in America we have the Xbox 360 version which has been out for like a year now maybe longer and it's now $20 USD so it's a possibility but then again this is the only version that has trophies included which also includes Record of Agarest War Arc System Works aka Aksys has licensed to America.

Yeah it should be a platinum. Never get why some games hide the platinum.

Happy to finally be able to play this with the PS3 controller since the 360 controller took fun away from the game. Just wish Record of Agarest War wasn't so far off still since they are bringing that to PSN as well. Although they also announced it will come to 360 the same day now so will probably get that on 360. The rumors of a 10GB size is pretty stupid of them to keep as a PSN game instead of retailing it.

Yeah I played the Japanese demo for Battle Fantasia when I 1st made a Japanese Playstation Network account and loved the controls.

Record of Agarest War was supposed to be a Playstation Network exclusive but instead the other console got it as well. But the bright side is the America gets the 100% best version available. And it's just a couple of months away.

I'm guessing hiding the platinum is like since there's hidden trophies that you would have to achieve to get the platinum, some people just put the platinum as hidden as well. BlazBlue has a hidden platinum, Tears To Tiara Gaiden has a hidden platinum, and others as well and each 1 shares 1 common thing they have hidden trophies besides the platinum. As for why this concept isn't available on all games with hidden trophies I don't know but whatever makes no difference.
