Well, I guess I'll wait another month or so before I sell my two disc DVD. As long as we get both cuts in lossless audio I'll be happy as I have seen about every extra that has been produced for this film.

You could always try emailing Ridley Scott.

Yeah, there really needs to be a hybrid cut of the two versions put together... I can't believe Ridley's "director's" cut is actually the full final version, but just an edit that was done based on the European theatrical version. The fact that is is missing the scene where
[Show spoiler]Jack returns the horn to the unicorn and revives it - in the DC the unicorn is just magically alive again with no explanation, and plays like a inconsistent plot hole -
pretty much guarantees that. It's a shame he can't do a true director's cut.

Hey, maybe he could do a... Final Cut... and put all cuts of the film in a briefcase.

I have never understood why Gump replacing the Unicorn's horn was not kept in the Director's Cut. It just made more sense to me. I want to see a final cut as well, but I highly doubt we'll get it. However, you never can be sure with Ridley Scott so we'll just have to wait and see.

Which is exactly what caused me to lose most of my respect for him as a director over the years...

I'm going to buy this when it comes out, but only for the U.S. Theatrical Cut.

This version of the cover seems to be more final:

Edit: I see it has been updated on the opening post, too.

I actually kind of like the cover. Nothing spectacular and the Ultimate Edition DVD still looks better, but it gets the job done and has a nice, colourful look.

I don't have any problem with it either. Despite what many others are saying, I actually think it looks good.

Well that's less horrid, but nothing will beat the Ultimate Edition dvd cover.

Wait... what changed? Because suddenly its less eye-gougingly bad, and more 'Okay, I guess its a movie cover'. But I can't really tell why this has suddenly changed.

Day 1 purchase for me but I'm still keeping the Ultimate Edition Region 1 DVD and European Theatrical Cut Region 2 DVD.

Why are you keeping these when the BD will contain the theatrical and Director's Cuts?
