According to the online magazine Apple Insider the next OS X release from Apple nicknamed Leopard will feature HD-DVD and Blu-ray playback.

BETA releases of the software has according to reports references to the new HD formats.

Hopefully it will find it's way into the final release which is expected in Spring 2007.
