Do you have the blu-ray version of this and if so, is it worth the upgrade from DVD?
Being there is better than not my friend I dont own it yet but have seen it. Its pretty good but I have not compared. By memory I dont think its full HD.

Rec 2 will be released locally on the 22nd of July for those interested in a local version

Cheers. Picked up 127 Hours from BIG W for $23. Nice price when it is $35 at JB. Should note that it was Bluray only and no DVD or digital copy included.

Watched - Caddyshack

I've got a wife and kids free night next weekend so a few mates are coming over to indulge in a "Masterpieces of shit cinema' night...any suggestions? We need the movies to be so bad it's bad/good...so far we have Frankenfish, Piranha 3D and a movie by Uwe Bol. I usually steer clear of his stuff, but after a few beers we'll provide the dialogue!

^ About time we got up!

Watched: Up to episode 4 of Fringe Season 2. Really enjoying the show though like The X-Files I'm definitely a "mythology" fan and not a monster-of-the-week fan so much. Episode 4 was awesome and I hope the show keeps up with the potential starting to show through.

Will do mate, I've been waiting for TMF impatiently and will watch it as soon as I get a chance.

Good game BTW, I know it sounds a bit 'as if' but I actually wanted NSW to win so it would make for an awesomley intenst third game and a great great series - Getting so sick of QLD romping NSW every year

Ah, I have these nights with friends every now and then. I feel like I can make a few suggestions: The universally considered worst movie of all time: Troll 2, followed by the documentary about why it's so good/bad: Best Worst Movie.

Or you could go with something a littler more current and random like, i dunno, a tyre becoming self aware and killing things with it's mind: Rubber (we all fell asleep, to be fair we were pretty tired and it was late)

Or maybe The Wraith tickles your fancy: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0092240/ (They actually call this car the Dodge Turbo Interceptor 2000 or something cool like that, it's been a while since last viewing)

Or you could save them for another time and watch the absolute best worst movie I have ever seen in my life, a movie so bad yet so good that it has become a reference for other good/bad movies: Low Blow - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091442/ - yes you absolutely have to watch this, just thinking about it makes me smile Leo Fong is the man! Seriously....

My friend and I have a commentary we do when we watch it, there is so many errors in this movie and so many funny parts, its such a riot!

EDIT: A quick review which fails to mention Billy Banks' Cartwheel kick and the miscut scene that the editor got wrong but it was too late to realise (see if you can see which it is), which is a shame: http://www.explosiveaction.com/2010/...blow-1986.html

Jesus, I really need to get that Taxi Driver BD. You guys are all creaming yourself over the packaging so I need to check it out first hand to see what all the hype is about. Can't imagine it being any better than the Bride on the River Kwai box (beautiful).

Brake - all those movies have made the list; now to find them!
Kaigusto - Taxi Driver packaging really is that good, and it is made all the better by the attention they gave to the movie. It's on par with Bridge on the River Kwai.

Just watched Let The Right One In and then Let Me In for comparison.

I must say I enjoyed LTROI much more. The acting was better with the actors being more commited to their roles and giving their lines the appropriate time to breathe. The delivery in the remake felt rushed and seemed to me like they were just trying to imitate the original.

The narrative also flowed better. Why bother employing the overused technique of beginning a movie halfway through the story as LMI did? It's just been done to death IMO and completely ruins the pacing of the movie.

The effects were more realistic too. Why? Because the US version relied too heavily on CGI. When will Effects Supervisors learn to give weight to their creations? The physics just never looks right and it became glaringly obvious in the scene
[Show spoiler]in the tunnel when Abby savaged the poor bystander.

Overall I give the Movies 8/10 for Let the Right One In and a 6/10 for Let Me In.
