Not sure how dented the corners were, but a little bit would be acceptable to me. Boxes would have to be pretty damaged before I did anything, and I'd probably opt for a partial refund if the discs were undamaged.

I mean you can get slipcover blu-rays from HMV, Amazon etc but it'll always be a gamble even with their slightly better packaging, and whether its included at all. The only real way to absolutely guarantee a slip & undamaged, is store bought.
