Your eyes seem to work very well

Didnt think to comment on slip here in Haul thread, but here is added comment in Slip thread:

Transformers logo and Optimus on front embossed. No spine or back embossing. And as usual the Paramount slip is short.

My old and lousy Ixus II camera wont take good embossing pics Im afraid

I'm glad I decided to preorder that version of DOTM. The cover art and the embossed slip look great!

If they weren't region-locked, I'd consider trying to acquire them simply because the slipcovers look great.
Since I already have the US versions, I wouldn't mind just getting that packaging and putting my existing discs in them. But there's no real easy or cheap way of doing so, and I really don't want to spend a ton just for that.

You could always contact a Belgium member and see if they are looking for any American releases. If they are, you could do a trade.

Most of the films released here are around 30$+ at start and unfortunately never really go much down. There are really no 9.99$ Blu's for us to get. This biggest issue is not the price (though it is too high) the issue it that way too many movies aren't released here on Blu-Ray or come really really late here, and sometimes missing some of the extra content or discs.
Nah thats not too bad.. Buying BD's is not too great here either.. As you said, a lot of them are not available, and the prices are too high! Blockbuster usually has some great deals though... But I import ~90% of my collection anyway ! Usually I find the US or UK editions much nicer than the ones we get here..

Picked this up at Wal-Mart today for $19.96 as I didn't feel like laying down $45 for the super duper set.

Ughh... same here. Lost my cord too. I think I might've accidentally thrown it away. I know I had MANY cell phone chargers/cords that I don't know how I ended up with and threw those out, so I might've tossed my camera's cord too.

I threw it away. I'm not a supporter of slipcovers. In fact, I flat out hate them. I throw the majority of them in the trash when I get them. IMO, they look better on my shelf without them. The only time I actually keep them is if the slipcover has different artwork/info than the insert in the case.

Why don't you sell them to people that would really appreciate them then? You get money, they get the sleeve they need for their collection. Win win

I don't care about making money off of them. If I sold them to people, I would be basically feeding their addiction. Yes, addiction. IMO, slipcover collecting isn't a hobby. It's an addiction and I don't support it at all. Slipcovers belong in the trash. Plus, it's not worth the hassle selling them anyway. I would have to go through all the crap of packaging them and paying to have them shipped out to people. Piss on that! They get thrown away!

Congrats, that's the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day!

Stamp collectors? ADDICTS.

Coin collectors? JUNKIES.

Card collectors? INTERVENTION NEEDED.

... Just really ridiculous, lol.

Edited to Add: People who collect slipcovers do so for the same reason that anyone collects anything: THEY LIKE THEM. To suggest otherwise, especially going so far as to proclaim that they're an unhealthy addiction, is merely a way for a person to try and put themself on a pedestal above others... Ridic.

Slipcover collecting is an unhealthy addiction. As far as I'm concerned, it's just as bad as smoking. People care WAY too much about getting slips nowadays. It's pretty pathetic. If I offend, I apologize. I just think it's ridiculous that so many people care about a little paper cover over a case.

Can we drop the slipcover discussions in here please? Obviously some people like them and others don't. There's no reason to keep bringing it up, especially when there's people who keep repeating themselves.
