Default WWE going HD; Possibly Blu-Ray

Quote:
Starting Monday Jan. 21 and Monday Night RAW, WWE will be presenting all of their TV shows in HD, including their monthly pay-per-view events. The crew is putting the final touches on incredibly vibrant, high-definition versions of RAW, ECW & SmackDown!, including the assembly of a revolutionary entrance set that will be used for all three brands. It’s also tweaking the complex lighting and pyrotechnic elements that give each brand's broadcast their distinctive looks, as well as adjusting every Superstar's entrance package to shine in gorgeous WWE HD.

According to Mike Grossman, WWE has yet to decide whether to distribute its high-definition pay-per-view events on HD-DVD or Blu-Ray format discs. Either way, the shift to HD programming will open the eyes of our fans worldwide.
In my opinion, I think it would be cool if they starting releasing their DVDs in Blu-Ray, but not every single PPV like they do now on DVDs. Maybe just the big ones, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, Survivor Series. It's really not a need to release every single event on Blu-Ray just yet. Wait til the price of a Blu-Ray disc goes down a bit.
