I don't think The Terminator has ever been cut. It was just reclassified for a 15. All the supplementary material is below 18 as well. Unless we get new extras I can't see them been rated 18 though.

Thanks for the Zavi information jammyone. No problem Villiam Hayes.

It might be a mock-up or designer error. There isn't anything at the moment that's rated 18 with The Terminator and Amazon's classification is TBA.

I don't really care for the steel book; I like this new cover and all that matters to me is that it's a new transfer and please please please let it be region free because I'm in Canada. I hope I won't have to cancel my pre-order because it'll be Region B locked

Do you not mind the remixed gun sound effects then? On my old VHS, the gunshots sound more brutal!

All I know is that the entire film has had a new transfer done by Lowry.

German release has been confirmed to contain new transfer.
German release out end of August. So pretty much guaranteed UK transfer will be too.

It's recieved a lot of DNR to get rid of that awful, awful grain that shouldn't have been there in the first place. Hopefully it will look as good as the Ultimate Hunter Edition of Predator!

It's standard practice to not include mono tracks on UK/EU releases when there is already a 5.1/7.1 mix. The Godfather, The Day the Earth Stood Still, the Bond films, the Disney classics, all included the original mono on the US release but it was binned for the UK/EU releases.

So just because it isn't included for the German release doesn't mean it won't be for the U.S. The more worrying thing is the precedent they set by not included it on the original US release from years ago.

I'd guess the real problem with the UK discs is that most of them are also manufactured for distribution around Europe meaning that there needs to be a multitude of language options. I suppose companies think that if they give us a 5.1/7.1 HD track, there's no need to give us a mono option on top of that.

Yup, it's usually down to needing space for a gazillion different language tracks. In a few cases they've even had to downgrade the lossless English option found on a US release to a lossy English option for the UK release because they've needed the extra space for the foreign tracks.
