I've been a longtime naysayer on the use of digital over film cameras. Even Avatar, with it's superb 3D, didn't have very appealing photography in my opinion (it's live action scenes retained a very video look).

But I have to say I've been really impressed by the format over the past couple years. I've loved the photography of Hugo, Game of Thrones, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, & especially Prometheus. But the revelation that Fringe Season 4 was shot digitally is mind blowing to me. I usually notice the change when a show goes from film to digital. But, again, I honestly didn't have the slightest clue in this case. Kudos not only to the crew, but also to the makers of those cameras. Really, just excellent work.

Can't wait to check out the PQ on this set tomorrow - should be a beauty.
