I've never seen Shailene Woodley in anything so I can't say whether how good or bad her acting may be. Though I think she might make an interesting Mary Jane Watson..

I can't really say anything about the girl in talks, but from the one picture I've seen she looks good, just not that hot. And i don't say that to be a mean jerk, but the character is suppose to be this smoking hot Supermodel type girl. But I guess this their way of going "realistic" but not that it's going to bother me from enjoying the movie though.

She's almost as or about as hot as Emma Stone, they're both much hotter than the mediocre Kirsten Dunst.

That chick reminds me of the MJ from the animated series from the 90s. That's a plus in my book!

Shailene could be a good MJ, she looks like the Ultimate version of the character. Which leans more to the cute, girl next door look rather than the hot, bombshell, supermodel from the mainstream universe. These movies are an amalgam of both universes so I really like this casting if she ends up in the role.

Electro is a visually stunning character who could translate well to the screen, but they will have to give him a meaningful story.

Oh, please....Wasn't "The Sandman robs banks to support his family! " bad enough in SM3?

Have to admit, I was hoping for Mysterio, too--in that he has a greater variety of attacks, more style about using them, and fits better into the "real world" context of arranging not-so-supernatural illusions for our hero. Even left enough room to fit Kraven the Hunter in as a partner to make the actual kill, without breaking the contemporary setting.
Electro was "next on the list" for Silver-Age villains, but...eh, like the Vulture or Rhino, there's just not that much there to work with--His explanation pretty much stops at his name.

Yes I am with you on that one, I hated how Raimi treated Sandman and Doc Ock turning them good at the last minute, so we could sympathize with the villain.

But I was referring to the conflict of the movie itself, give him a grand scheme, something that puts the whole city in jeopardy, not just committing petty crimes here and there. Make him more of a menace that is all.

Could Electro end up working for Mysterio or Norman Osbourne? He just feels like an insignificant henchman to me.

Green Goblin or The Vulture should be the villain. I wouldn't mind Scorpion either.

I never got the fascination for Mysterio. Hopefully, he won't have the fishbowl helmet otherwise he will be a laughingstock onscreen.

I didn't mind Dr. Octopus given A.I. tentacles and his close connection with Peter, but yeah Sandman was a joke with his tacked on sick daughter.

I still am passionate for idea of linking Morbius and Man-Spider together with this new franchise considering the ground work they laid just by including the gene therapy aspect of the story.

Having a "little" (emphasis on "little") inside knowledge, Electro will most certainly be in the sequel. How big of a role is uncertain at this time. That's all I will say.

There's a lot of Sony stuff in your house.

May I ask why?

Does anyone know if there have been any further talks about an inter-company deal that would allow Spider-Man to appear in the MCU. I know there were some really, really, really vague rumors that it was a possibility something could be in talks a while back and despite my attempts to the contrary, my hopes totally got up.

Honestly not sure anyone will be able to top James Franco's performance in Raimi's saga but my vote would go to Tyler Hilton.
