The only thing I've read that so far that I hope happens is that Batista gets picked for Drax the Destroyer. He's pretty much perfect for the part.

I sometimes question the validity of these casting reports. In the whole Captain America thing, Jensen Ackles name was thrown out quite a bit, but Ackles later said he was never a part of it. I agree with you all saying they should mostly keep these potential casting choices to themselves until they make up their minds. I really wonder sometimes if they leak it to get a feel from us fans to help them in their decision. If so, no to Sandler and no to Bentley.

I wish they'd just give Rocket to Michael Rooker. Since he wants it so bad. He'd be fabu

Never got an idea from the comics that he had an accent like that though. So I hope they avoid it.

If it's motion-capture, Jim Carrey would be great as ... whatever he's going to do in this. Huge talent. But Adam Sandler? C'mon. Sandler? Gotta be kidding.

Carrey? Yes. Sandler? I'd prefer not.

They are also adding Wes Bentley, Chris Lowell and Cam Gigandet to the list of actors up for Peter Quill.
No to Carrey and Sandler!

I could live with Carrey but Sandler would be the end of the world.

I can't imagine Rocky having Sandler's one 60's Jerry Lewis-y "Jersey loser, or whatever it is" attempt at a Funny Voice in lieu of actual comedy.

Right now, watching Ben Stiller become the new ex-Eddie Murphy "Default studio comedy star"--and get all the failed Carrey concept-comedy projects that fell into turnaround when studios didn't know who else to cast to ad-lib the movie for them--I'm putting twenty bucks in the betting pool right now. Seriously.
(Carrey doesn't go NEAR a project anymore unless it's an overly quirky art-indie, a personal labor-of-love, or lets him play eight characters like Peter Sellers.)

Where does Kick-Ass 2 : Balls to the Wall fit in those choices?

I'm looking forward to this movie, but my excitement will drop if Sandler is involved.

If Sandler is in the movie, they definitely lost me as a customer. I'd rather they animate a turd that have him in the movie.

Chris Pratt cast as Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy

An unexpected choice and not at all like any of the rumoured candidates but a great one. Zero Dark Thirty showed his dramatic chops and he's great as a comedic performer (he's a highlight of Parks and Recreation). I can see him having very good banter chemistry with Downey and co. come Avengers 2.

Unexpected choice indeed. Liked him in Take Me Home Tonight and Five Year Engagement.

Interesting choice. Very funny in the brilliant Parks and Rec, but being that I have not yet seen ZD30, I only associate him with that brand of comedy.

Not a name I was expecting, but I am open to anything in hopes they pull it off.

As has been said, Pratt is an unexpected choice, but a great one. He's a very good actor, not just in his comedy aspects, so I'm all for this. Glad to see the movie finally lands its main role, and I like this idea of getting names that aren't necessarily big for the roles, but whoever the right guy for the role is. It's worked wonders so far for Marvel, and this will be no different.
