As long as a film has something going for it, in some way, I'm happy.
That's what makes me upset though, because I do love blockbusters!

I saw The Lone Ranger yesterday and went in with extremely low expectations and the movie rewarded me by not exceeding any of them. So I was not let down and got exactly what I expected.

I can give credit to the consistency of the movie though. Lots of guns being pointed at people with long speeches, no one firing and miraculous random clumsy escapes, over and over and over again. It was also very consistently boring...even the end credit sequence was a boring confusing waste of time. I chuckled at the end of the credits because the movie managed to dupe me into wasting another 5 minutes on it. If you see it, stay until the end and you'll know exactly what I am talking about.

I don't know if it was the writing or Armie Hammer's "acting" but he was devoid of any kind of charm or charisma which made his character very unlikable and the Tonto relationship lacked any semblance of chemistry.

Exactly. Cinema of the present always feels more significant than it actually is. When you take a step back, you'll see the trend is no steeper than any other individual year. Remakes, schlocky action films, adaptations of popular books, have alway been with us.

Do Wolverine and RIPD look especially good? No. But I'm not gonna label them as crap sight unseen.

I just think Depp is not right this role and based on people's review of this movie it seems he was a miscast. Lou Diamond Phillips is a great actor and he does a good job on Longmire playing the Native American who is best friend to the title character.
Johnny Depp is right for the part. People don't realize he happens to be part Cherokee.

I also found it amusing looking back and thinking that if the Lone Ranger hadn't been so sanctimonious with his quest for "justice" at the beginning of the movie, he could have saved hundreds of people's lives.

So, I have a 9 year old little girl that is really wanting to see this. I'm not all that excited but I'm willing to risk it for her... so the question I have to those who have seen it... do you think she will have a good time? 2 hours 29 minutes is a long time to sit through something with a bored kid.

He may have been right to the part to you, but others may not agree. They are allowed to have their own opinions.

Well, There's the fact that he happens to be part Cherokee, that's why he's right for the part. So It's not just an opinion that I have.

This is the absolute stupidest thing I have ever heard.
Taylor Swift is white. So she is the right choice to play Mother Theresa, right? Jaleel "Urkel" White as Barack Obama?

I liked it more than Man of Steel, but your mileage may vary.
