Mad Max Trilogy definitive? (p/q wise)

I *think* I remember there being a couple of BR versions of the first or second film - one good, one not so good or something like that so I just waited for the trilogy, having never owned any single ones. Is this new trilogy definitive picture wise now? Or is there some better import for a particular film? I seem to recall it being th first film UK release not as good as the US or AUS or something like that.

Also any word on the cuts? I read these contain cut versions or something? Are the full cuts on any other BR or is it a DVD thing?
