You wouldn't have looked in Lincoln Nebraska's Best Buy would you? They just got the title in last week. I passed on it to purchase Lords of Salem and the Friday the 13th collection this week but am planning on going back to pick up one of the 2 copies next Friday. I even went back today do make sure they were still there (which they were). They also had Cockney's vs Zombies for some, only god knows why, reason.. Of all the Scream titles to choose from to stock on their shelves, and they choose that...

He still took the miss with grace. That's incredibly respectable.

Wow a millionaire admitted another company acquired a title he was planning on acquiring first, someone should give him a purple heart for his heroics

No need to be rude. I'm just saying that some people would be bitter about it.

I would admire him more if he had told us what that third title that Scream got was.

I would have liked it too. But I respect his respect for his fellow horror companies. Still, I think it's Sleepaway Camp.

Don May wouldn't have just solely gone after Sleepaway Camp without considering the sequels. I doubt its that.

Let's use common sense, we know he was in talks about Society, Titan Find (aka: Creature), and The kindred. Odds are that is one of those three titles.

We all want Sleepaway Camp, but there's a difference in wanting it and genuinely believing that its the 3rd title. Saying its the 3rd title is seriously a blind guess, there's not a shred of evidence to support that its the 3rd film.

Ironically, I suggested it weeks ago as the 3rd title, but then we didn't know as much as we do now. And now, I can say it more than likely isn't Sleepaway Camp.

That's where I found The Fog as well. I'm not exactly sure why they were carrying it. They only had one copy.

I don't care whether it's Scream or Synapse that does Phantasm, I just want Phantasm on Blu!

They were carrying it because the Scream Factory distributor (Gaiam?) sold it to them.
It depends on how marketable the stores think an item is, and apparently they thought The Fog was marketable.

They probably had more copies before you stumbled upon yours. Mine had quite a few.

Nope. Only Collector's Editions and Movies filmed from 2012 onward.

Yeah, I would love to upgrade my DVD of Phantasm.

Just placed my order for Prince of Darkness. I believe this will be the first Shout Scream that I ordered before the date of release. The movie is a def a guilty pleasure for me. Collector's Edition with HD sound, English subtitles, great artwork with a matching slipcover, 50GB BD Disc, and tons of extras including audio commentary by the man himself...John Carpenter. JMK gave the video 4.5/5 and I am sure it will look beautiful. Thankfully, Shout does things right and does not limit their releases to 3,000 to inflate price and hype .

Agreed, I would love all 4 on blu! (Well, the remaining 3 anyway). I have the DVD Sphere set from the UK, would love a blu set like that!

He was talking about Don May from Synapse.

And I kind of doubt that Don Coscarelli is a millionaire.

It's ironic that when Synapse Films announces what they consider to be a career defining acquisition (in an already impressive profile) everyone comes to the Scream Factory thread to discuss it. I hope we aren't letting the excellent releases of the past year from Scream Factory overshadow the legacy of other great publishers.

He could be a low millionaire or not one at all. I couldn't find any info on him. At any rate, it's not that important. Even if he had a couple million, that makes for a good-average retirement nowadays. There's articles everywhere saying that a million dollars is not what it was and is not even enough to retire anymore -- pensions help greatly with this but tons don't have one anymore. Good health care is a must or one prolonged hospital visit could wipe out that million it took a lifetime to build.

John Carpenter is worth $35 million but his body of work was more in the spotlight at one point.

Back on topic:

I want to toss my Sleepaway Camp 2 DVD so I hope it gets released soon. I vastly prefer it to the original. I would buy the original too.

I would buy Shakma as I completely forgot about it.

I do plan on buying Body Bags. Saw it when it came out; my favorite segment was the gas station segment, not Hair like most.

If Don Coscarelli was a millionaire he would probably buy back the rights to all of his films and release fancy box sets himself and he would finally make a 5th Phantasm film. That's definitely what I would do
