It could be Phantasm but that isn't the 1980s (they can get that in the future Id guess) ,
What it could be - Sleepaway Camp
What it should be - Without Warning, the Rift, or Pumpkinhead
What I wish it would be- Without Warning , Fright Night II or Godzilla 1985

What it will wind up being
Max Headroom
I'm still guessing Society, with Creature / Titan Find as the alternate.

A deal with Yuzna would be awesome. That would mean a late 2014-to-2015 release of Bride of Re-Animator. Maybe that would give some leeway for ROTLD 3.

This is untrue. Synapse Films has not announced any acquisitions (other than Curtains and Prom Night) recently. There is speculation Synapse obtained Suspiria based on Don May's Facebook enthusiasm about an undisclosed film; nothing has been confirmed.

I agree, Synapse Films is hard to beat even from Scream Factory due Synapse's expertise in film restoration.

I thought the Director or the directors father owns Phantasm 1,3,4 and Survival Quest. They are all Copyrighted "Stairway International" and he is the sole executive producer. Just a guess.

Oh OK. I was wondering what was going on because I did not see any news on this. Well hope Don can get it because It'd be awesome.

Scream Factory MUST make a deal with Don Coscarelli, Sr.

Yes, its purely speculation about Suspiria.

But they've announced more than just Curtains and Prom Night recently. They have also announced ThunderCrack!, Manos: the Hands of Fate, and a couple more. All after the two slashers.

I'm still excited for both companies. Although, just because Phantasm is no longer with Anchor Bay doesn't mean they anyone else snapped it up so quickly, especially not Scream Factory.

My bets on Suspiria for Synapse, and Society for Scream Factory.

Thank you, I'm not sure how ThunderCrack and Manos weren't so bright on my radar.

Phantasm strikes me as a film that could be costly to obtain (it spawned 3 sequels and is regarded as a classic). Still I suspect that might be more accessible than Suspiria from the Weinsteins.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the rights to Suspiria have reverted or are about to revert back to their owner. Didn't the Weinsteins pick up Suspiria all the way back in 2008?

On top of the speculation there is still a 3rd title that Synapse has that Don said was a doozy..I wonder if that one he mentioned is the same as the one hes waited over 20 years for.
Time will tell.
I really love both Synapse and Screams releases, the good thing is they are friendly competitors

Don was really nice in his admittance that Scream beat him to the punch on NOTD and Witchboard. I admire that.

They didn't beat him to the punch so much as Synapse had to put in a low ball offer in order to put in a very strong offer on this new mystery title.

I'm shocked. I actually found The Fog in Best Buy today for sale. Must be due to Halloween coming up.

But given they haven't carried ANY of the Scream Factory titles in stores from the start, this was major.
