Never liked the 'convoy scenes' in 1978 Superman---terrible comedy relief at a point in the movie where it didn't need it. Just have them say Luthor has gained control of the missiles after they launched by some high tech method. ....cut 7 minutes out of a 143 minute movie or leave room for some other more interesting material.
