Default My Sony Receiver!?!?!?
Hello all,

I have an older Sony ES1000 (about 5 years old) receiver, pre-HDMI 7.1 surround that I have hooked up to a PS3 via opticial cable. I have been very excited to see some of the new Lionsgate releases that feature the 7.1 surround soundtracks. I finally rented 3:10 to Yuma on Blu this weekend and guess what? It does not decode 7.1 uncompressed audio. Could someone please explain? I figured that since it is PCM I would be able to receive the audio. Is it the PS3? I thought years ago by purchasing a 7.1 receiver I would be ahead of the game. Was I incorrect or am I missing something here? Thanks for any help!!
