EManT2200 Special Member Member since:Mar 2008 Home Theater Gallery:5 4K collection:232 Blu-ray collection:966 DVD collection:292 Trading Score:1	Magnavox Blu-ray player - $298.00 I work for Wal-mart,this morning, I noticed a Magnavox blu-ray player, model #NB500MG9 for $298.00. I tried researching on the internet tonight. I can find absolutely nothing about this new blu-ray player, not even on Magnavox.com. It states on the box, SD slot (for firmware updates ?), HDMI 1.3 deep color, 24 FPS, Profile 1.1 compliant, Dolby TrueHD (no DTS-HD ?). Is it required that Profile 1.1 machines be capable to receive a firmware upgrade to Profile 2.0 ? I know the new Sony model #BDP-S350 is 1.1, and capable of going 2.0 by firmware upgrade. Can anyone find ANYTHING about this new blu-ray player ? It is a nice looking machine. I would just like to be sure that I can do a firmware update to make it Profile 2.0 compliant, if I chose to do so at a later time ! Last edited by EManT2200; 05-10-2008 at 04:33 AM.
