There were already three dubs other than English in the US disc: French (Quebec), French (standard) and Spanish, that's why I was "worried" as the US disc was used with the old "suitcase" edition in Spain and completely omitted in all other European countries where it came out.
And apart from the encode, being from a mixed Italian and Swiss (German speaking, though only one of my brothers speaks fluently) family I could use the dubs for when one of my brothers might want to see it (and beside that, all my friends speak only italian, so no "collective vision" in case the box set had the US disc).
By the way, I ordered it yesterday, should arrive in a week or so.

Crap, I just realised that you meant the second disc, lol
I know that the workprint version was re-encoded in AVC, but can't say how it relates to the non-US releases, unfortunately.
