Why did you save for 2 years and not 18 months or 48?

Simply put, you found a maximum utility for consuption and acted on it. For you it was worth waiting 2 years, and not worth waiting 4 years. Simple as that. To say that my utility should match yours or that I (or someone else who bought Vizio) am "impulsive" is foolhardy.

I spent years in the military for the MGIB, and years in construction to supplement, so that I could finish a degree in 3 years. Is someone who can afford to go right into college from highschool impulsive or do they have a higher income?

Impulsive is not what my Vizio buy was. Informed is what I would call it. If I had saved the money, it would have taken me almost two years anyway. 3 years would leave me with $800 and STILL Vizio would be my only choice. So what is more impulsive, saving for 2 years for a nice TV, or saving for 2 years for a crappy TV?

Maybe some of the people here would be kind enough to give me the money to make up for my impulsive budget and saving. I am starting to think maybe I dont make enough money to like Blu-ray
