Just as a head's up - toddlers are drawn to big TV screens like a moth to a porch light. I came around the corner just in time to see my dear nephew tracing his finger around my LCD TV screen while watching the rainbow swirl effect it left behind. I just about hit to the roof. My own son is well past that phase, so I hadn't had to worry about that stuff for a while.

Flat panels on walls aren't immune to it either, unless they're protected by a pretty big credenza or media console underneath them. For my 32" LCD TV, I placed it inside a media center with doors instead of wall hanging it. That helps keep dust off it, and I can secure the door shut when toddlers are raging through the house. My 50" SXRD rear projector is sitting exposed in the home theater room though. I'm in the process of trying to find or build a wall unit for it, and ideally it will have fold back doors as well.

Toddlers can take down a TV, speaker, or any other piece of gear in a matter of seconds. Back in the day my old boss lost his top-of-the-line JVC S-VHS player to a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. His daughter got impatient waiting for him to start her Barney tape.

It kind of served him right for having Barney in the house if you ask me.
