The same thing happened to me a couple of years ago. I started messing with it and ended up making it a lot worse. My best advice leave it alone.

I took the screen off my DLP tv. Not the same as LCD.
But i did it as the tech who serviced did a crappy job of putting it on the floor and getting lint all on the inside.
Well lets jsut say i couoldn't believe how imperfect the screen was. It had tons of swirl marks and everything in it.

Can't see any of this when the TV is off or on but if you can't notice it when the LCD is on then you should jsut leave it as is.

I scratched my A950 by swatting a bug away from the display with a microfibre cloth, couldn't believe it, but like yours you can't really see it unless your a foot away from the display. I'm just grinning and bearing it

That must have been SOME SWAT!

It's one of those situations where trying to resolve the scratch will leave you feeling like you should have left it alone to begin with. Once an LCD screen is physically scratched, it cannot be "polished" or "buffed out" or anything of the sort.

Fortunately, it generally does not affect the picture, so yes, grin and bear it.

Yeah, and one time I used Icy Hot to fix a scratch on my LCD

Leave the bathroom products in the bathroom people...

To the OP, I would just leave it alone to avoid making it worse.

Having flashbacks of shooting my mom's big tube tv with a BB gun when I was young. Caused a little nick in the thick glass. I caught hell for like a month before the apparent torture caused her to go out and buy a new one. My older sister then got the old tv in her room.

sorry.

Leave it alone IMO

Only thing about using an abrasive, many TVs and glass covered displays are ever so slightly frosted/etched for that semi-matte finish.
If you were to make that area clear or *polished* - you might see that... where the scratch was not visible.

Actually no I was trying to be very careful as of course it was brand new, I couldn't believe it when I noticed it the next day.
