Got Time Warner Cable wired with 8/1 line, takes me 2-4 minutes for regular firmware updates and 3-7 minutes for trailers (120MB on average).
I hooked up a wireless router and the firmware took 15 minutes, the trailers about 20. So yes, there is a big difference between wired and wireless. Also gaming with wireless, is pretty bad, as I have been kicked out of games a LOT! I wish we would have more competition here though, TWC is the only cable provider in Hawaii. Hence they rule the prices.
