Default "The Ring" (2002)

Who else is a bit curious as to when DreamWorks Pictures will release "The Ring" on Blu-ray? In an ideal situation, I'd love to see them bring in director Gore Verbinski, writer Ehren Kruger and Naomi Watts (among anyone else who'd like to weigh in on the production) to do a new commentary, along with finally providing the rarely-seen two deleted scenes featuring Chris Cooper as a serial killer that comes to Rachel Keller asking for help to clear his name/rehabilitate his reputation. Although it's doubtful that they'll want to release the former I'd also in that same league add that it would be nice to also finally see the more intense (i.e. R-rated) cuts of certain scenes that were later omitted to get the PG-13 rating.

Of course, I'd like for them to include all the additional bonus features that can be found on the special two-disc DVD version as well as including the excellent short "Rings". Also, if they really wanted to sweeten the deal a bit futher, they should include the original teaser trailer (in HD, of course) that was/is a great teaser and so much more affective than any of the trailers or TV spots that came after it.

Knowing studios, I'm assuming they'll just re-release the ol' barebones first DVD edition in Blu but, hey, one can still imagine a truly special/collector's edition Blu-ray.
