Great to hear! This is one of the titles I ordered from Amazon on the 27th. I missed it in the theater, so I'm really looking forward to getting it. Since I already purchased it, I didn't want to read a review so as not to accidently see any spoilers, but nice to hear that the PQ is top notch

I was going to order it, but noticed it got 12% on rottentomatoes.com (thus 88% rotten). Considering the Amazon price on this pre-order is 27 bucks, I think I am going to pass for now.

you can get it from buy.com for $10 using google checkout. thats what I did. I missed this movie in theaters as well and since I dont care what critics say, I will decide for myself if this is a good movie.

I'm not fond of spoilers either, including many full length trailers. But, if it helps, I try not to include spoilers in my reviews of new films in particular - including the screenshots. But that can be hard to do with the horror genre some others where the less you know the better off you are. Sometimes even knowing the genre is too much information.

This movie is about Fed-Ex sending the FBI to an address somewhere in the Mid West because 1 out of 3 of their delivery guys goes missing, and later on their bodies turn up in cat and dog food.

The big disappointment is that product placement for Fed-Ex is everywhere.

I'm gonna watch it right now, got my copy earlier today. Will let you know what I think.

*UPDATE*: Just finished watching this movie. I thought that the picture quality deserved a 4.5/5.0. Not the worst nor best movie that i've seen. Didn't really find it scary, but there are a few parts that may make you jump a bit.

Default The Messengers - using Java scanning feature, no resume?

I just watched The Messengers last night and noticed it had a startup loading screen. When I went to fast forward or rewind the movie, an animated movie-themed bar would show up on the bottom of the screen showing the time elapsed, position of playback and indicated the scan speeds on the respective sides of it. I don't remember seeing this on any other discs. Pretty cool. However I noticed that there is no resume-play on this disc now.

The movie's alright if you like The Grudge-type pasty white dead people stuff. Kristen Stewart and Dylan McDermott are good. The disc presentation itself is much better with an awesome transfer and great PCM use of the surrounds. I swear when there's a wide daytime shot of the farm from a distance it looks like a postcard, it's so detailed.

Default The Messengers - Good or Bad?

hey boys gals granchildren, grandpas, kittie kats and doggies,

I heard good things about the movie "The Messenger" having really good video quality, on BD of course.

But when i checked it in movies.com and has the horrible rating of the movie. They rated "F". The fans rated "B-". Is the movie overall really that bad??? Huh???? Tell me if this movie is worth purchasing or not.

Movie's OK for a few jump scares and some spooky ambience. The disc is awesome though.

I really liked it. I never got a chance to see it in theaters so I bought it. I thought it was very good. One of the best horror movies I have seen recently even if it was a little predictable. Some good special effects really help the story out. In my opinion easily a 9/10. Encoding onto Blu-ray is very good too, good PQ.
