I Can't Play "The Messengers" on my BD Drive - fixed

Why??????


In the past, I was not able to play the BD movie "Apocalypto" so people here helped me getting it fixed. They told me to get the PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 + 2911 latest build and it fixed it. Works flawlessly!

Today I just got the BD movie "The Messengers" and I tried to play but it doesn't play. Just a blank screen. I tried playing it again and it just doesn't play. It's pissing me off!!!! What am I missing????

I am able to play any other BD movies like Crank, The Last Samurai, The Kingdom of Heaven, Pearl Harbor, Casino Royale, The Departed, The Phantom of the Opera, Click, etc etc etc no problems.


My video card is ATi X1950XTX.
The Blu-Ray drive is Sony BWU-100A.

Help please.

Ok, what the hell is the problem again, this time.

I was able to get the movie Apocalypto to run flawlessly by obtaining the PowerDVD Ultra 7.3 + Patch 2911 build (helped by other members here, and was very helpful).

Now today I got the movie "The Messengers" and it won't play. The PowerDVD Ultra menu window is there, but it just doesn't play. Black screen.

I am tired of this. I am pretty sure there are other Sony BWU-100A and PC owners out there who has the movie The Messengers. Did you ever get the fix to this? If so, what is the fix? Please help!!

Found a site that talks about the movie Messengers not playing, but I have no clue what the hell they are talking about. http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=126940 I can't translate that to an answer.

Have you opened a ticket with PowerDVD or Sony?
Is there a PowerDVD support forum where you can ask other users?

That forum member is trying to make a copy of the movie and they can't do it. What he is doing is unsupported.

Yea that's the lastest one I've seen so far, 2911 that is.

One of the sites that talked about the movie "The Messengers" not playing on BD was pointing out something about AACS key, something about decrypting and dumping something blah blah. I'm no programmer so how am I suppose to know

But nah I haven't checked with PowerDVD or Sony yet. I will give Sony a call or get with the PowerDVD support and tell them the problem. It is strange though, I'm sure I am not the only person who owns the Sony BWU-100A drive and the movie The Messengers and not playing but I don't see people reported this problem in this forum yet.

Found the answer guys. I nailed it, well, luckily.

It was the Windows Server 2003 that prevented me from playing the movie "The Messengers". All other Blu-Ray movies I have no problems playing on win server 2003. I have the dual boot so I used the second partion to install winXP, install updated, software, and BAMMMMM... worked.

I am watching the Messenger now.
