if you have the money, go with the 850... if that would be a squeeze go with the 800... its an amazing TV!

So, why would you go with the 850 even though the majority of features between both of them are the same?

The -850 model uses Panasonic's own "Digital Cinema Color" instead of THX, the two are mutually exclusive from each other. Panasonic obviously feel that their DCC is better than the THX standards.

THX standards are for HDTV colors, the DCC specification is supposed to more closely match the digital cinema standard.

Hmm... so, the 850 model might actually offer slightly better colors?


If the THX standard really isn't that nice or big of a deal, I suppose the 850 maybe is the way to go for someone who wants the best quality possible from Panasonic...
