No HT in a box or receiver can output continuously even the stated 100 watts or 150 watts per channel. It is all marketing hype and B.S.

Cinepro is one of the companies that makes extremely powerful separate amplifiers. Their top-of-line amplifier is Cinepro 4K6 MK4 SE-Gold. It has 6 channels and weighs 86 lbs. These are the specs:

Multi-Channel Mode
475 Watts per Channel, 8 Ohms
650 Watts per Channel, 6 Ohms
800 Watts per Channel, 4 Ohms
1200 Watts per Channel, 2 Ohms

Mono Mode
1200 Watts, 8 Ohms
1400 Watts, 4 OHMs

Seriously, look at the utility power it requires, in Watts, and multiply by .75. Assuming between the transformer (in)efficiency and the power cost for the rest of the system is only 25%, the remaining is what is left to possibly power the speakers. Watts is Watts. I'd guess it can't do continuous, peak, or RMS at 1KW. Given efficiencies from AC to DC that means it's drawing better than 10A from the wall to do 1K. Yikes! I hope her hair drier isn't or iron isn't on the same circuit!
