Default Pioneer $1000 Plasmas?? or other $1000 TVs?

I finally was able to save up $1000, to get my first HDTV. However I've been reading about manufacturers and it looks like it's either Panasonic or Pioneer, it looks that the Pioneers are more expensive. Are there even any that are $1000ish? If not, what is the most featured $1000 Plasma? What would you all recommend.

Looking for 1080p (42-46 in.), most likely.

Thanks!

You can get a 42" Panasonic. Pioneer does not have any HDTV's in that price range. You could get lucky & find a 7G 42" 768p for $1,000-1,500. Just the their day the Best Buy around the corner had a 42" Pioneer Elite (768p) for $1,400
